Conference of Presidents Applauds Bosnia and Herzegovina IHRA Adoption

New York, NY,... Dianne Lob, Chair, William Daroff, CEO, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Vice Chair, of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, issued the following statement:

"We applaud the Bosnia and Herzegovina presidency’s adoption of the IHRA Definition of Antisemitism, spearheaded by the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik.

"Bosnia and Herzegovina joins 37 nations, as well as hundreds of academic institutions, local governments, NGOs, and other entities in their support of the most authoritative and internationally accepted definition of antisemitism. Defining antisemitism is an essential step to effectively combatting it.

"We look forward to Bosnia and Herzegovina integrating the guidance of the IHRA definition into their education system and applying it in matters of hate crimes, and we strongly encourage others to follow in endorsing or adopting the full definition as a key instrument in the global fight against antisemitism in all its forms."
